INTESOL Journal

The INTESOL JOURNAL (ITJ) is a professional journal published by the Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (INTESOL). ITJ encourages the submission of previously unpublished articles on topics of significance to individuals concerned with the teaching of language.

INTESOL is proud to present the Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Journal, Volume 13 (2016). The theme for this issue, as well as the 2016 INTESOL Conference, is Accessing Opportunities through Language. Topics include higher order thinking, motivators and demotivators, peer review activities, the effectiveness of first-year composition class, and vocabulary within reading comprehension. The cover of this issue features the artwork of Ariya Tastha from Thailand, submitted by art teacher, Deb Singleton from Adams Central High School, Adams Central Community Schools, Monroe, Indiana. Ariya is the winner of the 2016 ELL K-12 Student Art Award.

Access the Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages Journal VOl 12, No 2 (2015). The theme for this issue (and the 2015 INTESOL Conference) is Building Stairways to Success to English Learners and addresses topics such as Instructional Coaching on Secondary Teachers, Using Image and Photo Voice as Curriculum, and ESL Program Leadership, among others. The cover of this issue features the artwork of Mayara Martins Pereira (Jeffersonville High School), the winner of the 2015 ELL Student Art Contest.
