 The Newsletter Editor/s:

  • is responsible for the dissemination of news and information concerning the Organization and the fields of TESOL through the INTESOL Newsletter

  • maintains copies of the INTESOL Newsletters

  • is responsible for the publication and dissemination of the INTESOL Newsletter

  • acts as liaison to the International TESOL Newsletter and other affiliate Newsletters

  • The term of this office is two years.

  • Current professional pursuits: I just finished my Master’s thesis on using corpora to teach academic vocabulary (Title: Teaching Academic Vocabulary with Corpora: Students Perceptions of Data-Driven Learning); I traveled to Lancaster University in Lancaster, UK in May of 2009 to the 30th ICAME conference to learn more about using Corpora in research and teaching

    I’m involved in a Lilly foundation funded research project which is identifying the linguistic realizations of certain psychological constructs thought to have a role in medical regimen adherence in type 2 diabetics, and which is looking at the health literacy practices of immigrants vs. native-born Americans.

    Hiking (Recently hiked 50 miles of the GR10 in the French Pyrenees and a 20 mile hike down the Grand Canyon) and organic gardening
